The new S100 skid-steer loader from Bobcat meets a market need for a compact, limited weight skid-steer loader that can work in tight spaces and is easy to transport. State-of-the-art engineering has ensured that the compact S100 loader offers the power and performance expected of a bigger machine combined with the durability of a strong frame design, increased operator comfort and easy serviceability thanks to a transverse-mounted 25 kW Kubota 4-cylinder Tier III 1505 diesel engine.
With an operating weight with bucket of just 1800 kg, the S100 offers a rated operating capacity of 453 kg and a tipping load of 907 kg. Compact dimensions - a height of 1878 mm, length without attachment of 2262 mm and width over the tyres of 1182 mm - allow the S100 to manoeuvre efficiently in confined spaces. The low operating weight ensures that the S100 can be easily transported on a trailer or small truck from one job site to another, providing the user with increased flexibility and productivity.
High engine power and hydraulic flow provide for extra fast cycle times and high productivity. 50 l/min of auxiliary hydraulic flow provide plenty of power for operating over 30 different attachments. The attachment capability of the S100 makes it an ideal machine for applications not just in rental, construction, landscaping and builders merchants, but also for work at schools, universities, local authorities, golf courses, sports grounds and country estates in both the public and private sectors.
The S100 is equipped with a new full-comfort cab, designed to enable operators to work all day long for optimal productivity. The electronic controls and instrumentation on the S100 are the most advanced on the market, providing the operator with a new level of diagnostic capability and control. The instrument panels and gauges are placed in convenient locations in the top left hand and top right hand corners at the front of the cab.
As well as a heated cab, there are a wide range of other options for the S100. The optional Power Bob-Tach system helps to speed up the process for changing attachments, simply by pressing a switch inside the cab. Another option is a bucket positioning valve which ensures that the bucket and contents remain level with the ground as the bucket is raised.
The use of dual tilt cylinders and the open design of the Bob-Tach quick-change attachment system at the front of the loader facilitate easy entry and exit from the cab as well as provide improved visibility to the attachment.
Thanks to the large swing open tailgate and transverse-mounted engine, the new S100 offers convenient one side servicing. Hydraulic and hydrostatic components under the operator cab can be accessed quickly by removing two nuts at the front of the cab and tilting it back.
As in all Bobcat skid-steer loaders, the S100 offers the well-known advantages of the unique 'bow-tie' drive chain design, using pre-stressed, heavy-duty no. 80 drive chains in two short continuous loops on each side of the loader. No periodic, time-consuming adjustments are ever needed. The extra heavy-duty chain ensures a long service life, even in the toughest operating conditions. The axle bearings are self-lubricated and never need additional greasing. The unique hub design also offers total seal protection.
