Hyster, a provider of material handling equipment, has announced that a forthcoming range of Stage V compliant trucks for its European customers will use Mercedes-Benz/MTU engines.
According to a statement, Hyster lift trucks weighing over eight tonnes, as well as container handlers and reachstackers, will be equipped with the Series 1000 and 1100 engines.
Based on commercial vehicle engines from Daimler, the new equipment has been specially designed for industrial applications such as material handling, as well as being further developed to meet the European Union’s (EU) Stage V regulations for vehicle emissions.
Hyster has also emphasized that the Mercedes-Benz/MTU engines will reinforce the durability of its ‘Big Truck’ range, in addition to delivering reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and reliable performance.
Other benefits of the engines include high running hours and reduced noise levels, improving the efficiency and conditions of the industrial environment in which they are implemented.

Following this agreement, Hyster Europe will work closely with MTU to ensure its dealer network is fully trained to provide service support, creating added value for end users throughout the product life-cycle of each engine.
